How Brain47 works
Brain47 runs one systematic investment strategy live, in paper mode, and shows you every decision it makes. This page explains exactly what it does, how the strategy was built, and what its real track record is — so you can study the process and judge it for yourself.
What Brain47 is
Brain47 is an AI-powered educational research platform. It operates a single, transparent investment strategy in real time — with no real money at stake — and surfaces the reasoning behind each position it holds.
You are the researcher. You observe what Brain47 does, study how a disciplined quantitative process behaves in live markets, and reach your own conclusions. Brain47 demonstrates its own analytical process; it never directs you and never tells you what to buy or sell.
The strategy, in plain terms
Brain47 follows one rules-based strategy. It does not chase tips, react to headlines, or change its mind on a hunch. Every month it ranks a broad universe of tradable stocks on three durable, well-studied characteristics:
- Momentum — stocks whose price has been trending, which tends to persist over medium horizons
- Quality — profitability and balance-sheet strength — businesses that actually make money
- Market-implied growth — what the market is currently paying for a company's future earnings
It tilts a diversified book of roughly thirty names toward the strongest combination of those signals and rebalances monthly. This is a systematic smart-beta approach — a disciplined, repeatable tilt toward sound characteristics. Brain47 makes no claim to secret, market-beating “alpha”; it is honest about being a rules-based method, not a crystal ball.
The live track record
Brain47’s track record is a genuine, forward record — not a backtest. The strategy has been running live in paper mode since 11 February 2026 (153 days).
Two numbers are shown side by side, and kept deliberately distinct. The strategy return is how the strategy itself performed over the whole period. The community return is what a population of accounts — which joined at different dates — actually experienced (money-weighted). These can differ substantially over short windows, because when you start matters. Brain47 shows both rather than only the flattering one.
Win rate on closed positions: 56.1%. Returns are simulated (paper) with realistic transaction costs. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
How the research is done
The strategy behind Brain47 was not tuned to look impressive. It was pre-registered and then stress-tested to try to prove it wrong — across multiple market regimes including crashes, net of realistic trading costs, and on data corrected for survivorship bias (so failed companies count against it, not conveniently disappear).
Brain47’s operators deliberately try to kill their own edges. What survives that adversarial process is what runs live; when an edge decays, it is retired openly rather than quietly propped up. The discipline of that process — the willingness to disconfirm — is the thing Brain47 is really built around, not a promise of returns.
What Brain47 is not
Brain47 is not financial advice, not a signal service, and not a promise. It has not assessed — and cannot assess — your personal circumstances, financial situation, goals, or risk tolerance. Nothing it produces is a recommendation directed at you to buy, sell, or hold any investment.
It is an educational demonstration of one strategy. You conduct your own research, you make your own decisions, and you bear all risk of loss. Investing carries the risk of losing money, including your entire investment. If you need advice tailored to your situation, consult a qualified, regulated financial adviser.
Data and methodology honesty
Brain47 currently runs in paper mode — there is no real-broker execution. Prices and fundamentals come from third-party data providers and may be delayed or incomplete. The strategy is one approach among many, and it can — and will — have losing periods.
Brain47 shows its working. The rebalance decisions, the current holdings, and the track record are all visible, so the process can be judged on its merits rather than taken on faith. If a number here looks too good, read it alongside the honest one next to it.
